Message from the Principal

What a great start we have had to the school year!  We have implemented many changes this year including the new bell schedule and TigerVention, and both of those appear to be going very well!  The change in the bell schedule necessitates restructuring our final exam schedule to better meet the needs of our students.  The following final exam schedule will be used for 1st trimester:

                December 1st                                                                          December 2nd

7:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.       1st Hour Exam                    7:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.   4th Hour Exam

9:35 a.m. – 11:05 a.m.            2nd Hour Exam                  9:35 a.m. – 11:05 a.m.  5th Hour Exam

11:05 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.          Lunch                              11:05 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.  Lunch

11:55 a.m. – 1:25 p.m.            3rd Hour Exam                  11:55 a.m. – 1:25 p.m.  6th Hour Exam

1:25 p.m.  Make up Exams or Dismissal                 1:25 p.m.    Make up Exams or Dismissal

AM Tech Center Attend in the AM.                        PM Tech Center will attend in the AM.

NO PM Tech Center on the 1st.                                              AM Tech Center will not attend on the 2nd.

Please note: Bus transportation will run at the normal time on these days.  If students want to stay at school from 1:25-2:38 p.m., we will have a couple of activities for them to stay busy.  If they choose to go home before 2:38 p.m., they will need to arrange transportation.

One of the other changes we made this year was to have some courses yearlong so we could better address curriculum standard expectations.  With the bell schedule changes and many courses being yearlong, we have noticed that our master schedule is less flexible than in previous years.  This means that we have had to adjust some schedules due to high class sizes, and will have less movement in terms of class changes during the school year.  This severely limits our flexibility in making schedule changes within the school year.

Mission Statement

Students, staff, parents and community will work together to provide a safe and nurturing environment for everyone so that they may attain their full potential as positive, productive citizens. In the light of an ever-changing world, each student will be provided with the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to succeed in our global society. Recognizing that education is a continuing process, we commit to this mission.
